What Organ Can Cause Right Shoulder Pain?

What organ can cause right shoulder pain? You can get referred pain from different areas of your body into your right shoulder from your neck. Sometimes people with cardiac issues can get radiating pain into either shoulder.

In general, if it hurts to use your shoulder, if you feel pain on the side of the shoulder it hurts to lift your arm, reach behind your back, or reach out to the side, you have a shoulder problem. If you feel pain on the front side of the shoulder, but you can do whatever you want with your shoulder, you have something else going on.

So the difference is, if it hurts to use your shoulder, you should see a shoulder specialist. If it doesn’t hurt to use your shoulder, but you’re having pain around the front not associated with use, then it’s probably a good idea to start with your primary care doctor and have them do a medical workup.

Shoulder pain can be treated. Explore treatment options with Dr. Kevin Kruse, a shoulder specialist.
