A common question people ask is how often therapy is successful with shoulder instability.
It’s about 50% for all shoulder instability. Some problems have a higher success rate, like 70, 80, or 90%, because of the nature of the instability and the patient.
Everybody is different. Each human being is unique in life in terms of what they can and can’t do, etc., and how unstable the shoulder is, etc.
There are a lot of different factors, but we tell patients when they come in, chronic instability, it’s not dislocating, etc. Across the board, there is about a 50% success rate with physical therapy to fix the problem or at least get it to where it’s not bad enough to where they want to have an operation to solve it.
Don’t ignore shoulder instability. See Dr. Kevin Kruse for a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan.
