A common question is how do I relieve shoulder blade pain? A lot of that depends on what it is.
Often, when pain appears on the medial side of the shoulder blade, it can be something with your neck. However, we also see other disorders of the shoulder blade, like scapular dyskinesis, where we have a dysfunction of the muscles around the shoulder, which can often be worked out with therapy.
Pain around the shoulder blade can sometimes be associated with the C-spine, but it can also be just the overall dysfunction of the scapula.
The best way to figure that out is to come in, let us see you, take some tests, and get a nice history of physical examination. Then, we can hone in on the problem and figure out how to fix it.
However, shoulder blade pain can be very multifactorial in general, and it’s difficult to diagnose unless you see it all the time and specialize in shoulders.
