This is a wonderful question that people should ask more often. It depends on the surgeon. It depends on the surgery.
In general, in our practice, our three main surgeries are rotator cuff repair, shoulder replacement, and instability operations. Your shoulders come in and out of the socket. That encompasses 90% of our procedures.
When you look at our data, 95% of our procedures are very successful, meaning, the patient is radically better than they were before the surgery. They’re very happy they had it done. And there’s a lot of things that they couldn’t do that now they can do.
Right now, not every surgeon does a good job of tracking their data and their outcomes. They should, but they don’t. They will in the future. We’ve done it for many years, so we can tell you with very firm confidence what our success rates are, for all shoulder surgeries across the board.
